Arthur Miller Foundation

We Are On A Mission To Make Arts Education A Right, Not A Privilege, For All Public School Students.

To honor the legacy of Arthur Miller and his New York City public school education, the Arthur Miller Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality theater education to public school students.

New York City is the theater capital of the US, but only approximately 20% of public schools in NYC have a dedicated theater teacher or program.  Not only are we determined to increase that percentage significantly in NYC, but our larger vision is for the organization to reach a national level, so that theater is an integral part of the academic day for all public school students across the country.

The Arthur Miller Foundation Fellows Program is a 3-year program in partnership with the New York City Department of Education.

New, certified public school theater teachers are eligible to become Arthur Miller Fellows and receive the following resources to create & sustain successful theater programs:

MENTORSHIP ($2,000 per teacher)
teachers are matched with an experienced theater educator who serves as their mentor for all 3 years of the program

THEATER RESIDENCIES ($3,500 per teacher)
teaching artists from celebrated NYC cultural institutions are brought into our teachers' classrooms to work with their students for 8-10 weeks

RESOURCES ($2,500 per teacher)
classroom toolkits and funds for students to attend Broadway shows

EVENTS ($200 per teacher)

included in a learning community of peers, with whom they network, collaborate & enjoy special events to further hone their craft as theater educator artists
